Coronavirus cases cross 6 million worldwide, death toll reaches 341,016

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases has increased to more than six million worldwide today. Death toll reaches 341,016 whereas 2,738,333 patients recovered.

According to details, Brazil registered another record increase in daily infections. Coronavirus cases have been increasing in Latin America, even several countries in the world exit lockdown.

Brazil has nearly 500,000 confirmed coronavirus cases, the second-highest number worldwide. It is becoming the new epicenter of Covid-19. The number of deaths nears 30,000.

President Jair Bolsonaro criticized governors and mayors for enforcing the quarantine.

On the other hand, US President Donald Trump decided to permanently cut funding to the World Health Organization. His decision has been strongly criticized.

Globally, there are 6,161,485 confirmed Covid-19 cases. The European Union stated, “Now is the time for enhanced cooperation and common solutions,”

“Actions that weaken international results must be avoided.”

Ease in lockdown

Several countries began reopening businesses and easing lockdown restrictions.

Britain is likely to lift the lockdown on Monday. Senior advisors warned that decision has been taken too quickly.

India has also decided to lift lockdown in stages from early June even though it marked another record daily increase in cases.

Iran has decided to resume collective prayers. Whereas, Italy reopened the Leaning Tower of Pisa on Saturday. Paris reopened parks and Galeries Lafayette department.

Austria reopens hotels and cinemas. Visitors are required to wear masks.

Washington resumed outdoor dining, Los Angeles reopened restaurants and hair salons.
