Note that, Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated today (Sunday) with full religious fervor in Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, UAE, Kuwait and the United Kingdom, the United States and Australia, followed by many European countries, including most Arab countries.
The joy of Eid in the Islamic world has waned due to the ongoing pandemic. On this occasion, which lasts for three days, Muslim citizens travel long distances to visit their families. A variety of food is prepared in the houses and the visitors keep coming and going in the houses throughout the day. But this time, millions of Muslims will not be able to enjoy the joys of Eid as they are confined to their homes.
Some Muslim countries have eased lockdown restrictions on this occasion. However, Muslim countries have appealed to the public not to leave their homes in view of the threat of the Coronavirus pandemic.
