In India, a group of monkeys attacked a medical officer, snatched blood samples of coronavirus Patients from him and ran away.

According to the details, the monkeys attacked the laboratory technician in Meerut city of Uttar Pradesh this week while he was passing through the government medical college.

“The monkeys snatched blood samples of four coronavirus patients and ran away, after which we had to take samples from those patients again,” said Dr SK Garaj, a senior official at the college.

The administration said it did not know if the monkeys dropped the specimens anywhere, but residents on the college campus feared that if the monkeys took the specimens to residential areas, it could spread the virus further.

Dr SK Garaj said it was not yet clear whether the virus would be transmitted to the monkeys if they came in contact with infected blood.

“So far there is no evidence of the virus being transmitted to monkeys,” he said.

The coronavirus is thought to have been transmitted from animals to humans at an animal market in the Chinese city of Wuhan last year.

There are a large number of monkeys in India that interfere with human affairs and often attack them.

It should be noted that so far more than 165,000 cases of Coronavirus Pandemic have been reported in India while 4,706 people have died due to it.
