The Punjab government announced a relaxation in the partial lockdown and decided to continue petrol pumps, tire puncture shops and home delivery 24 hours a day.

According to details, the Punjab government has issued a new notification to ease the lockdown and sent a letter to the officials of Interior ministry.

Under the letter, all exempted shops will remain closed on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, while petrol pumps, tire puncture shops and home delivery will continue 24 hours a day.

The letter also said that only grocery stores and commodity and vegetable markets would be exempted from the lockdown.

The letter further said that shops of meat, groceries, dairy and fruits would be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., while postal service, inter-city traffic would also be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Earlier, the Punjab government had taken an important step with regard to lockdown and had decided to relax four days a week and complete lockdown three days a week.

The notification issued by the Punjab Health Department said that business would be allowed in Punjab for four days from 8 am to 5 pm while Friday would be a holiday on Saturday and Sunday.

The notification further said that except for Chungchi rickshaws, public transport would be closed for sports events and processions, while public transport would also be reopened by preparing SOPs in an early meeting with transporters.
