The Walt Disney Company reopened its Shanghai’s resort after a four-month lockdown as the government eases restrictions on public gatherings.

Around 200 visitors entered the Disney park when the gate opened allowing guests to enter on the basis of their time slots mentioned on tickets.

Shanghai Disneypark restricts one-third of its normal daily capacity of 80,000 visitors. The tickets were sold within very less on Friday for $56 each, according to the company’s website.

The resort has also limit visitor numbers, requiring masks and checking for the virus’s fever.

According to President Shanghai Disney Resort, “We hope that today’s reopening serves as a beacon of light across the globe, providing hope and inspiration to everyone.”

Tourism has been hit especially hard by controls imposed around the world that shut down airline and cruise ship travel, theme parks and cinemas.

Disney blamed a 91% plunge in its latest quarter profit on $1.4 billion in virus-related costs.

Tokyo Disneyland closed parks in the United States and Europe in March.
