Venice film festival is likely to be held as per schedule at the beginning of September.

Lucia Zaia, the governor of the region around the Italian City, has said on Sunday that coronavirus cases in the country slow.

Venice film festival is organized by Biennale di Venezia Company. The event is considered the world’s longest-running festival, and Cate Blanchett would preside over its 77th edition in September.

Said Zaia said that fewer productions may attend the festival due to lockdown across the world.

The Venice Film Festival started in 1932 and was the world’s first film festival, The event usually takes place at the end-of-summer. The event includes several conversations with the celebrities, glamor, and a mass gathering of stars from the entertainment industry.

Coronavirus-Cannes film festival 2020 postponed to avoid large gatherings

On the other hand, The Cannes Film Festival, which was scheduled to happen in May, was postponed due to coronavirus pandemic.

The festival has publicly announced on Thursday, “Several options are considered to preserve its running”. BOL News reported on 20th March.

The Festival was due to begin on 12th May and would end until 23rd May.

However, the Cannes festival is likely to happen at the end of June. The festival’s management said, “As soon as the development of the French and international health situation will allow us to assess the real possibility, we will make our decision known.”
