Days after embracing world tennis super star Novak Djokovic, NBA icon Nikola Jokic has also tested for the novel coronavirus.
Media reports said that Nikola Jokic has revealed he has tested positive for coronavirus – just days after he hugged Novak Djokovic, who also has the virus; at a basketball match.
Jokic and Djokovic bounced into each other and shared a hug in their nation’s capital, Belgrade, on June 11 at a basketball match.
However, there is no indication either gave coronavirus to the other.
But Jokic’s positive test no means his return to the USA will be delayed ahead of the 2019-20 season’s restart at Disney World, Florida.
Reports claim the 7ft Serbian big man will be cleared to head to the States next week.
Earlier Novak Djokovic, from Serbia, told local media that he and his wife tested positive, while their children were protected from the virus.
Djokovic has been criticized for holding exhibition events and inviting athletes from other countries during the Coronavirus pandemic.
During the opening round of the tournament in Belgrade, the stands were full and the players hugged each other in the net, played basketball, posed for pictures and held press conferences.
During the tournament, the players’ entertainment activities and dance videos also went viral.
