Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited National Defense University (NDU) in Islamabad today (Jun 25).

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the COAS addressed the participants of National Security and War Course. He also discusses security situation in the region and lasting peace in Pakistan.

The sources said that Army Chief also spoke on internal and external challenges facing national security.

All the challenges require a comprehensive national strategy, the Army Chief said.

The official Twitter of ISPR wrote, “COAS visited National Defence University (NDU) Islamabad today & addressed participants of the National Security & War Course. COAS shared his thoughts on security environment of the region and his vision of enduring peace in Pakistan. Highlighting internal and external challenges to National Security.”

The tweet also said, “COAS said that full spectrum of these challenges demands comprehensive national response and strengthening of all state institutions. COAS said that Army will keep doing all that is required of us for provision of secure environment for sustained socio-economic progress.

The sources also said that COAS also reiterated that Pakistan Army is committed to defence & security of the country & shall continue to perform with national support. On arrival at NDU, COAS was received by Lieutenant General Muhammad Saeed, President NDU.

To address these challenges, all state institutions must be strong, the country’s long-term economic and social development is linked to a safe environment, the army chief added.

He also said that the Pakistan Army will continue to make every effort to provide a lasting safe environment in the country.

The Pakistan Army will continue to perform its duty with national support for the defense and security of the country, the Army Chief said

President Lt. Gen. Muhammad Saeed received the Army Chief on arrival at the university.
