Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that India is targeting the civilian population on the Line of Control (LoC).
According to details, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi while addressing the contact group meeting said that India wants to turn Occupied Kashmir from Muslim majority to minority while India’s provocation on LOC has increased, India’s provocation could affect peace in the region.
The Foreign Minister said that the OIC should oblige India to hold a referendum in Occupied Kashmir in accordance with UN resolutions while India should allow the OIC delegation to visit Occupied Kashmir to review the situation.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi also said that it was clear that India was trying to suppress the spirit of freedom by force and Hindutva thinking. Therefore, the international community should also take notice of India’s actions.
The statement said, “For the last 10 months, the Kashmiri people have endured untold suffering from continuous lockdown, military siege, communications blockade, and unprecedented restrictions. These measures were imposed following India’s illegal and unilateral actions of 5 August 2019.”
Shah Mehmood Qureshi also said that India wants to stop the spirit of freedom in occupied Kashmir from oppression and violence. India has failed to eradicate the spirit of freedom from this oppression and violence and will continue to fail.

“The Indian occupation forces have since violated even basic human right of the Kashmiri people and employed every tool of oppression to further consolidate their stranglehold. To prevent the world from knowing the Kashmir reality, the occupation forces are suppressing, intimidating and incarcerating Kashmiri male and female journalists,” statement added.
The official statement also said that Pakistan has repeatedly underlined that the measures to alter IOJ&K’s demographic structure are illegal and in violation of the UNSC Resolutions and international law, in particular the 4th Geneva Convention and UNSC resolution 122.
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi further said that the meeting apprised the contact group of the reality of Indian initiatives in occupied Kashmir on which the contact group demanded an end to the long lockdown in Kashmir.
