The Indian Army opened heavy fire in the village of Haveli in Hajipur sector of Azad Jammu and Kashmir attached to the Line of Control (LoC), killing one woman and injuring another.
Police in Haveli district said that the Indian army started firing at around 11.30 am without any reason.
The report said that the dead woman was identified as 75-year-old Attran Bibi, who was sitting on the porch of her house when a shell landed near her.
Citizens of these areas said that the Pakistani army also responded befittingly to the Indian shelling.
According to civil and military officials, the Indian Army has violated the ceasefire agreement 1,050 times so far this year, leaving eight people killed and more than 100 injured.
Apart from the loss of life due to shelling by the Indian Army, 23 houses, 5 shops were completely destroyed while 212 houses were partially destroyed.
