Barrister Farogh Naseem to sworn in as Law Minister tomorrow for the third time

The government has decided to reinstate Barrister Farogh Naseem in the federal cabinet, who appeared as counsel for the government in the case of Justice Qazi Faiz Isa.

On the other hand, Barrister Farogh Naseem has confirmed that he will be part of the cabinet again tomorrow. He said the swearing-in ceremony would be held tomorrow morning and he would take over as law minister.

It may be recalled that Farogh Naseem, who had represented federal as a lawyer in the Qazi Faiz case, had tendered his resignation on June 1.

Farogh Naseem had said in a statement after his resignation that at the request of the Prime Minister, he had decided to represent the federation on the reference, there was no personal obstinacy against anyone and he had never acted against the law.

He had said that at the request of the Prime Minister, he appeared in the Supreme Court as a lawyer to represent the federation in the reference. Farogh Naseem had said that he appeared in the case only as a judicial assistant.

Earlier, Barrister Farogh Naseem had also resigned from the post of Federal Law Minister in November 2019 to pursue the case of Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa in the Supreme Court.

The government had decided to re-appoint Barrister Farogh Naseem, who had resigned to pursue the Army Chief’s tenure extension case in the Supreme Court, as law minister.

He was re-sworn in as Federal Law Minister on November 26. Prime Minister Imran Khan, while appreciating the performance of Farogh Naseem, said that as Law Minister Farogh Naseem is the best representative of the government.
