13 renowned builders of the country have assured Prime Minister Imran Khan to start various projects worth Rs. 13 trillion in the next 4 to 5 months.

Developers, builders and the business community in the construction sector have expressed satisfaction over the cooperation of the present government in solving their problems and providing a conducive environment for the promotion of activities in the construction sector.

The country’s 13 leading builders have assured Prime Minister Imran Khan to launch various projects in the next four to five months, which will generate more than Rs 13 trillion in revenue, including the construction of about 100,000 residential units.

This assurance was given at the weekly meeting of the National Coordinating Committee for Housing, Construction and Development chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The meeting was also attended by prominent provincial builders, developers and representatives of the Association of Builders and Developers from Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore, including all the provincial chief secretaries.

ABADrepresents builders ‘and developers’ organizations nationally and plays a key role in private sector construction activities.

During the meeting, the representatives of Abad said that for the first time in the history of the country, not only the process of NOC and permits is being facilitated and the period is being shortened but also for construction, housing and development activities by private banks. Prime Minister Imran Khan lauded the important role of Governor SBP in encouraging the private sector to provide necessary assistance to the construction sector.

The builders and developers present at the meeting assured the Prime Minister that the existing system would help them in resolving their issues and with the approval of pending applications, projects worth billions of rupees would be launched.

At the same time, 13 builders present at the meeting assured that the builders and developers of Abad would also start implementing their promises soon.

Expressing satisfaction over the assurance of the builder community, the Prime Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to providing all possible facilities to the construction sector.

He said that big cities have more development which gives greater opportunities to builders and developers, adding that increase in construction activities would create jobs which would lead to economic stability in the country and burden of the deficit.

The Prime Minister said that development of the construction sector, small and medium scale industries are the top priority of the present government and the government would extend all possible support to these sectors.

Imran Khan assured that the new projects would be facilitated and the applications would be processed expeditiously.

The Prime Minister directed stern action against the officers who obstructed the supply of basic necessities like electricity and gas.

He said that online application, tracking and monitoring system has been set up while One Window Facility Center will make it easier to do business in the construction sector.
