ISLAMABAD: A nationwide crackdown has been decided against elements involved in wheat hoarding.

According to the details, an important meeting was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Imran Khan on the availability of wheat and flour in which it was decided to crack down on the elements involved in wheat storage across the country.

According to sources, in view of the threat of flour and wheat crisis due to mismanagement of the provincial government in Sindh, the provincial government was directed to ensure advance arrangements in any case.

It was suggested in the meeting that the Sindh government should bring wheat stocks in the market by October.

The federal government said that the timely intervention of the Prime Minister averted the possible wheat crisis in Punjab. The people have already suffered the consequences of the wrong decision of the Sindh government.

Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the entire country could not bear the brunt of the administrative incompetence of a single province.

Instructing the Chief Secretary Sindh on wheat release, the Prime Minister said that Sindh should finalize the wheat release policy as soon as possible keeping in view the past experience.

Imran Khan directed the provincial chief secretaries to continue the zero-tolerance policy against adulteration and not to make any concessions in this regard.
