Four persons killed in Karachi during rain due to accidents
The weather in Karachi is pleasant due to rain but accidents have started as soon as it started raining.
According to details, four persons including a child were killed in different accidents during rain in different areas of the city today.
Sources said that a 10-year-old boy was electrocuted near Gulshan-e-Hadid Phase 2 near Tahir Medical College while 22-year-old Usman and 18-year-old Iqbal were electrocuted by a broken electrical wire in Gaddafi Town, Landhi.
The sources also said that 55-year-old Yousuf died due to electric shock near Garden Fountain Chowk while a motorcyclist fell into the drain in Sector 11.5 due to flooding in Orangi Nala.
Sources further said that a 5-year-old girl allegedly drowned in a drain near Korangi Vita Chowrangi area of Karachi during the rains. Edhi Foundation volunteers rushed to the rescue operation in search of the girl.
Earlier, as the third spell of rains lashed Karachi, several areas of the city faced power outages and flooded streets.
According to the details, more than 550 K-Electric (KE) feeders tripped in the metropolis.
Areas of Malir, Shah Faisal Colony, Gulistan-e-Johar, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, FB Area, Liaquatabad, PIB Colony, Gulshan-e-Maymar, Korangi and Old City reported to be without power as the rain started.
KE said it would restore power as soon as it was safe to do so.
