Mike Tyson announces return to the ring against Roy Jones Jr.

Former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson has announced his return to the ring after 15 years and will face Roy Jones Jr. on September 12.

Mike Tyson announced his return to the ring on social networking site Twitter.

In another tweet, he called on the great players of all sports to return.

According to reports, Mike Tyson will face the Ford Division World Champion in the exhibition competition on September 12 in Los Angeles.

The competition will consist of 8 rounds and the broadcasting rights of the competition have been acquired by the social media and music website trailer which will also broadcast the preparations before the competition.

There will also be music on the occasion of the former world champion’s return to the ring.

It may be recalled that Mike Tyson had released a video of his training on social media in May this year on which his fans had urged him to return to boxing.

The video showed Mike Tyson carrying the WBA, WBC and IBF titles and the message in the video was “I’m back”.

Mike Tyson later said he wanted to return to the ring to raise money for charities, after which several names emerged to compete with the boxer known as Iron Mike.

Roy Jones Jr., 51, who won a record 7 ballots, last fought in 2018.

Also, before Roy Jones Jr. competed against Tyson, old rivals Evander Holyfield and New Zealand rugby great Sonny Bill Williams reportedly signed up.

Mike Tyson set the record for the youngest heavyweight champion by defeating Trevor Berbick in 1986 at the age of 20.

Iron Mike has won 58 professional fights in his illustrious career, winning 50 times and quit boxing after losing to Kevin McBride in 2005.
