The Sindh government has appointed Zia-ur-Rehman, younger brother of Maulana Fazlur Rehman, as Deputy Commissioner, Central District, Karachi.
The Sindh government has issued a notification according to which Zia-ur-Rehman has been posted as DC Central in place of Farhan Ghani.
Zia-ur-Rehman belongs to the Provincial Management Service, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Zia-ur-Rehman’s services were handed over to the Sindh government and he has been re-appointed as Deputy Commissioner Central.
Former DC Central Farhan Ghani has been transferred and posted as Additional Secretary Local Government.
Minister for Kashmir Affairs Ali Amin Gandapur said that Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s brother was recruited without test and merit, it is not known under which law Fazlur Rehman’s brother was brought in civil services.
Ali Amin Gandapur said that Maulana Fazlur Rehman kept calling Nawaz Sharif a thief and a dacoit but after taking the chairmanship of Kashmir Committee, he became a part of the Nawaz government.
He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan was running the assembly without diesel.
PTI Karachi has also reacted to the appointment of Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s brother.
General Secretary PTI Saeed Afridi says that Sindh government also needs diesel for expenses. The move to appoint Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s brother is to make the All Parties Conference a success. The Sindh government is completely disappointed with the performance of its DCs.
Reacting to the PTI’s response to the appointment of Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s brother, Sindh Information Minister Nasir Hussain Shah said that being the brother of Maulana Fazlur Rehman was not a crime.
Nasir Hussain Shah said that Zia-ur-Rehman has also held administrative posts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The appointment of Zia-ur-Rehman is a complete administrative matter.
