Interior Adviser Shehzad Akbar said that some things were needed to be amended in the laws regarding FATF and that is why new legislation has been enacted.

According to details, while giving a press conference, Interior Adviser Shehzad Akbar said that the reason why Pakistan was on the gray list before 2018 was because of the works that the world wanted to stop and was ruling.

Shehzad Akbar said that some things came to light from FATF that Pakistan has to do, we do not want to get personal benefits through this law.

The new legislation has agreed to increase penalties and fines in the Terrorism Financing Act, but the opposition has objected to the law on mutual legal assistance, as the law includes the CTD, FIA, police and other agencies.

He said that the bill has been passed by the National Assembly but it is being blocked in the Senate while the purpose of the bill is to make the investigation of money launderers abroad better and more effective.

The Home Adviser said that the PPP and PML-N have tabled 34 amendments in their proposed draft and it is a draft to disable the law and if we obey the opposition, they have earned as much as they have earned and then everything will be lawful.
