PM Imran Khan has said that WHO should play a role in lifting travel restrictions on developing countries including Pakistan.
According to details, PM Imran Khan while talking to DG WHO through video conference praised the WHO’s Pakistani initiatives to control the epidemic while the Prime Minister appreciated the support from the WHO.
Prime Minister Imran Khan apprised the DG WHO of the steps taken by the Pakistani government against the corona virus and also informed of the steps taken by Pakistan to improve health facilities.
Talking about Pakistan, the Prime Minister said that health facilities were enhanced during the Coronavirus pandemic
Imran Khan also said that travel restrictions imposed by developed countries due to coronavirus could lead to economic hardship for poor countries.
Prime Minister Imran Khan further said that WHO should play its role in lifting travel restrictions on developing countries including Pakistan while WHO should formulate non-discriminatory travel rules for all countries.
During the video conference DG WHO said that the WHO is working to create SOPs to lift travel restrictions.
