Where Australia is taking strict steps to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus, residents of Brisbane have set aside all standard operating procedures and social distancing measures. A video of a Kebab Shop sparked outrage on social media that witnessed the people partying inside the store.

Kebab shop in a Brisbane nightclub district fined after a large number of people was filmed partying inside.

Video footage showed dozens of people in close proximity dancing and jumping in the Fortitude Valley store on the weekend, in breach of COVID-19 restrictions.

Furthermore, Deputy Police Commissioner Steve Gollschewski labeled the behavior “extremely disappointing”, before police handed down a $6,772 fine to the business for breaches of social distancing measures.

Local Police in its statement said “Business operators and patrons are reminded to adhere to public health directions including social distancing measures at all times to reduce the risk of COVID-19 spreading in Queensland,”
