Governor State Bank of Pakistan Dr. Reza Baqir on Monday apprised Prime Minister Imran Khan on key features of Roshan Digital Accounts and the plan for their launch.

Earlier chairing meetings on various sectors of the economy, the prime minister approved the initiative to introduce ‘Roshan Digital Account’ for the overseas Pakistanis. He said that the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) had been empowered to provide immediate subsidy on house loans.

For the first time in Pakistan’s history, NRPs are being provided an opportunity to remotely open an account in Pakistan through an entirely digital and online process without any need to visit a bank branch.
