President of the United States of America Donald Trump said that the November 3 presidential election vote count could take weeks or months to determine.
Despite a possibility that mail-in ballots could overwhelm the post office and local election bodies, US president Trump said while addressing the Council of National Policy, a conservative activist group.
“You’ll never have an election count on November 3. You’re not going to be able to know the end of this election, in my opinion, for weeks, months, maybe never.”
Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, 50 million votes will be cast by mail. This has raised concerns about political turmoil, cheating, and other legal challenges that could result in delaying the result.

Trump, who polls show is trailing challenger Joe Biden, alleged that Democrats were promoting universal mail-in voting to maneuver the results. Along with that, Trump has also highlighted a systemic problem.
“We’re not prepared for this, 51 million ballots. It will be a tremendous embarrassment for the country. This is a very serious problem for a democracy.”
It should be mentioned here that a top US election security official mentioned that there could be outside interference during the count of the votes after November 3 presidential election.
