Bilawal Confirms Meeting With Army Chief, ISI Head

Karachi: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that he wants democracy and democratic freedom in Pakistan, he wants equal opportunities for every citizen of the country.

These views were expressed by Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari while addressing a press conference at Bilawal House.

He said that an alliance has been formed in the name of Pakistan Democratic Movement.

Bilawal Bhutto said that like in the past, the National Security Meeting was convened in the absence of the Prime Minister.

The PPP chairman said that it was the responsibility of the prime minister to engage the opposition on national issues. Given the current situation, it does not seem that the talks on national security will remain secret.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari announced that he would contest the general elections in Gilgit-Baltistan with the same manifesto.

Bilawal said that there was no rigging in the last election and we do not agree on it. He hoped that the upcoming elections would be clean and transparent.

Confirming the meeting with the military dignitaries, Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto said that no special talks were held with the Chief of Army Staff and head of the Inter-Services Intelligence Lt Gen Faiz Hameed. The overall situation was discussed with General Qamar Bajwa. It would have been better if Prime Minister Imran Khan had also been present in the meeting.

Criticizing Railway Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that Sheikh Rashid was making the issue controversial by making irresponsible statements. If Sheikh Rashid was elected, he would not attend any future national security meeting.

He said that if a consensus was to be reached on any issue, the details of such a meeting should not come out.

The PPP chairman said that the APC was the historic APC of Pakistan and for the first time since the advent of the government, Asif Ali Zardari and Nawaz Sharif were present together.

He said that Nawaz Sharif delivered a long and detailed speech which gave good direction to our forum and APC, as a result of which we have issued a joint statement and action plan after 9 hours of discussion.
