Punjab Police have shot dead four men suspected of raping and killing a 14 years old boy near the bypass in Faisalabad.
According to police, 14-year-old Zain was killed on September 1 after being brutally raped.
Two suspects, Sajjad and Allah Rakha, were arrested two days ago after a case was registered.
Police had obtained physical remand of the accused after which they were being taken for recovery of arms last night when eight accomplices of the accused allegedly attacked the police near the bypass.
According to police, Sajjad and Allah Rakha were detained in the encounter while two accused Abid Hussain and Khalid were killed in the attack.
He further said that Abid was involved in 41 cases of robbery and Khalid in 43 cases and these cases were registered against him in different areas of the city.
According to the police, other accomplices of the accused escaped while the police have registered an FIR and started further investigation.
It should be noted that the incidence of child abuse and subsequent murder in the country has increased in recent years.
Zainab, 6, was abducted and murdered in Kasur in January 2018, sparking nationwide protests and was later arrested and hanged.
Last year, a 13-year-old girl was gang-raped after being abducted by influential people in the Jhelum area of Punjab province, leaving her in critical condition in the desert and fleeing.
In 2019, a 5-year-old girl was raped by an accused named Osama in Kot Addu Tehsil of Muzaffargarh District of Punjab, after which the police registered a case against the girl’s grandfather and arrested the accused.
On March 19, 2019, the Faisalabad Sessions Court had sentenced the convict Abdul Razzaq to death for abducting, raping and killing an 8-year-old girl. He was convicted of dumping in Razaabad area near Abad.
In July this year, an 8-year-old girl who was gang-raped by two men in Buttar Dogran Chananda village of Pasrur Tehsil in Sialkot died at the hospital.
