According to sources, the hackers threatened to release secret documents if they did not get the money, and the K-Electric system was still paralyzed due to the cyber attack.

K Electric’s communication with banks, internal communication, e-mail system is closed, it should be noted that KE’s IT system was hacked in August two years ago.

Sources say that K-Electric has hired international experts to rescue the data from the hackers.

A spokesman for K-Electric said in a statement that a cyber attack on K Electric’s system earlier this week had caused problems for the company.

According to the spokesperson, the security of the system was ensured by taking precautionary measures after the cyberattack, bill payment solutions, call centre and all customer services were made operational while unauthorized services were removed from the system.

According to a spokesperson of K-Electric, most of the customers are facing difficulties in getting copies of bills from the website, in this regard, alternative services have been launched.
