The online classes were conducted due to the outbreak of the deadly corona pandemic. However, the students of the varsity had dedclared their unsatisfication and displeasure over the quality of online teaching.

Earlier, the first day after six months closure of Karachi University (KU) witnessed protests by a large number of students that demanded promotion on the basis of assignments submitted during online classes.

According to the details, students had gathered around the administration block and protested against the decision of the management to conduct semester examinations from September 21. The students were of the opinion that there was no ‘teaching’  in the online classes, rather the teachers only asked students to submit assignments.

The students demanded to know on what basis was the varsity then conducting these examinations.

It is to be noted here that the decisison has come after a day of student’s protest, demanding promotion without examinations, or online examinations.
