ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan while commenting on the intra-Afghan talks said that joint efforts have finally come to fruition.
According to details, Prime Minister Imran Khan welcomed the commencement of intra-Afghan talks and said that Afghanistan has been suffering from conflict and bloodshed for 40 years, Pakistan also suffered from the Afghan conflict, terrorism, loss of precious lives and huge economic losses were incurred.
“Now our joint efforts have paid off. Intra-Afghan talks are beginning. The Afghan people have been waiting for this day for many years. I have been saying since day one that there the only solution of the Afghan conflict is negotiations,” he said in a statement.
Prime Minister Imran Khan said that Pakistan has played an important role in facilitating the Afghan peace process, we are happy to fulfil our part of the responsibility, now Afghan leaders take advantage of this historic opportunity.
He said that the Afghan leadership should work together in a constructive manner, try to secure a broad-based and comprehensive political settlement, adding that this reconciliation process under the leadership of Afghan officials is essential for Afghanistan, regional peace.
The Prime Minister further said that we hope that all parties will honour their commitments, the parties must remain steadfast in the face of all challenges, we will be unhesitatingly committed to achieving the desired results. We express our full support and solidarity with the Afghan people.
