The National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC) has allowed reopening of the secondary schools (Class 6 to Class 8) across the country from September 23.

According to the details, The National Command and Operations Center has given permission to open educational institutions in the second phase. The meeting on the opening of educational institutions was attended by Federal Minister Asad Omar, Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood, and Interior Minister. Provincial education ministers also attended the meeting.

After the first phase, a total of 35 educational institutions across the country were closed after coronavirus cases emerge in educational institutions.

With corona cases being reported in Sindh’s educational institutions, the provincial government has extended the date for opening schools from sixth to eighth grade by one week.

Sindh Education Minister earlier said Our purpose is not to shut down schools permanently. We simply seek for them to mend their ways when we see them not fulfilling their responsibility.

The provincial education minister emphasized that schools will reopen on September 28, depending on the improvement in the pandemic situation.

Educational institutions were opened on September 15 for the students of matric and above standards.

In the second phase, the secondary schools are scheduled for reopening on September 23, while primary schools will reopen on September 29.
