Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz has departed from Lahore to Quetta ahead of Pakistan Democratic Movement’s (PDM) third power show at Ayyub Stadium.
Maryam Nawaz on Saturday said the party supremo, Nawaz Sharif, would address the PDM Quetta Jalsa via video link.
She ended the speculations why Nawaz Sharif didn’t appear at the last public meeting held in Karachi and whether he was ready to repeat the same in future.
Speaking to media officials at Allama Iqbal International Airport, said that only the Sindh government should probe into the Karachi Jalsa matter, adding that no other institution had the right to hold an inquiry.
Speaking about Prime Minister Imran Khan’s claims that he would even visit the United Kingdom to bring back Mian Nawaz, Maryam said the UK government runs on the basis of constitution and law, not by the rhetoric of PTI officials.
“Only Imran Khan needs an NRO. No other person requires any NRO,” she said when questioned about PM’s claims to meet UK counterpart Boris Johnson.
Earlier, The Sindh police had arrested Maryam Nawaz’s husband Captain (R) Safdar from his hotel room in Karachi.
The son in law of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was taken into custody after he was booked in a case pertaining to the violation of the sanctity of Mazar-e-Quaid where he had chanted slogan “vote ko izzat do” (honor the vote)” and urged people to join him, while on a visit to the mausoleum with Maryam Nawaz.
However, PML-N Vice President wrote on Twitter, “Police broke my room door at the hotel I was staying at in Karachi and arrested Capt. Safdar.”
