Kabul has appreciated Pakistan’s role for peace and stability in the region and its commitment to extend efforts on the Afghan peace process.

According to the details, US Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad welcomed the Joint Vision of Afghanistan and Pakistan on peace and development.

Taking to his Twitter, he said, “If implemented, it provides an opportunity to move forward on peace and development in the region.”

He added that:

“Pakistan Prime Minister @ImranKhanPTI’s visit to Kabul represents a concrete step forward as does the Joint Vision that Afghanistan and Pakistan announced.”

US Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad welcomed went on to say that:

“We congratulate both countries on emphasis Joint Vision places on: 1) preventing either’s territory to be used against the other, 2) inclusive governance, 3) stronger people/govt/security ties, 4) more integrated econ connectivity, trade & dvp-linking CentralAsia, Pak & Afg.”

Khalilzad added that:

“We also welcome Pakistan’s commitment to work for a reduction of violence and a ceasefire in Afghanistan.”

Imran Khan, who was on an official one-day visit to Kabul last week, said that his visit to the country was another step towards conveying Pakistan’s commitment to peace in Afghanistan.

PM Imran said, “Our people in the tribal areas, who have suffered the ravages of the war in Afghanistan, will esp benefit from peace & trade.”

The premier hopes for increasing betterment between the two countries in terms of trade, peace and bringing prosperity.

“I have never believed in military solutions which is why I always believed that in Afghanistan peace will be achieved through political dialogue,” he tweeted.

The Prime Minister also added that after the Afghans, we have the greatest stake in this peace as it will allow for connectivity & trade, bringing prosperity to both Afghans & Pakistanis.
