MDCAT 2020: Vice President of the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Maryam Nawaz has raised voice in support of the students’ demand for delay in Medical & Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) exam.
According to the details, Maryam Nawaz took to her Twitter and questioned why the MDCAT 2020 was being held when educational institutes have been shut down in the country amid the second wave of the novel coronavirus.
Maryam Nawaz said “While all educational institutions are closed and exams are being postponed, MDCAT students are being forced to appear for MDCAT test by PMC.”
“Why the discrimination? Why imperil them and their families?” Maryam asked.

On the other hand, Pakistan Muslim League Q’s Moonis Elahi also urged the government to reconsider the decision to hold the MDCAT on November 29 for the safety of students as the country is witnessing severe rise in COVID-19 cases.
“When the government has suspended all educational activities and examinations because COVID-19, then why are thousands of young people being forced to appear for the MDCAT exam on November 29?” Elahi asked.
On Wednesday the Pakistan Medical Council (PMC) announced to hold a special examination on December 13 for students who have tested positive for the COVID-19.
According to the statement issued, “the Medical & Dental Council has approved the holding of a Special MDCAT Examination for COVID-19 positive students.”
The statement further added that any registered students tested positive for novel coronavirus between November 15, 2020, and November 29 2020, shall be permitted to sit in the special examination which will take place on December 13, 2020.
