Prime Minister Imran Khan will be visiting Kabul on Thursday to meet Afghan President Ashraf Ghani. 

According to the details, Pakistan’s envoy to Afghanistan Mansoor Ahmed Khan confirmed on his Twitter handle, that:

“Prime Minister Imran Khan visiting Kabul tomorrow for meeting Afghan President Ashraf Ghani to discuss strengthening of bilateral ties ⁦.”

This is the first visit by PM Imran to Kabul since he assumed office in August 2018. The visit comes at a crucial juncture as intra-Afghan talks are making little progress with continued violence in Afghanistan making the process further complicated.

Earlier Foreign Minister FM Shah Mahmood Qureshi also said that Pakistan is eager for a peaceful, prosperous and stable Afghanistan.

While having a telephonic conversation with his Afghan counterpart Mohammad Hanif Atmar, Shah Mahmood Qureshi said peace in Afghanistan is linked with peace and stability of the region.

Foreign Minister FM Shah Mahmood Qureshi said intra-Afghan dialogue provides an excellent opportunity for peace and the Afghan leadership must seize this opportunity.

Moreover, he said it is imperative to make the intra afghan dialogue result-oriented in order to realize the dream of durable peace in Afghanistan. Foreign Minister said Pakistan will continue its sincere efforts for peace and stability in the region including Afghanistan.
