Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Social Safety and Poverty Alleviation Dr. Sania Nishtar has warned the people on Sunday not to fall for fake Ehsaas Program messages, inviting them to call a certain number to get the grant.
The Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program was launched in April 2020 to help poor families having financial issues due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Dr. Sania Nishtar supervises the Rs320bn program, leading its implementation across the country. Under the Ehsaas program, millions of families have recieved a stipend of Rs12,000 across Pakistan.
Taking to the micro-blogging site Twitter, Dr. Sania warned that Ehsaas messages only come from the number 8171.
“This message you have received is absolutely fake,” she told the recipient of a text saying that a grant of Rs33,500 was approved and that the given cell phone number should be reached to claim it.

Earlier, the Ehsaas Program had decided to start a nationwide drive for school enrollment soon in collaboration with the provinces and key development stakeholders.
According to the details, the plan was discussed during a maiden meeting of the Ehsaas steering committee for Waseela-e-Taleem Digital.
