Pakistani transgender model and dancer, Rimal Ali recently attacked and harassed in Lahore.
The victim’s hairs was not only cut off during the brutal incident but was also shaved. Ali has accused an Attock local, Jahanzeb Khan, of this vile conduct.
She also reveals the name of the harasser and told, “I am being oppressed daily so I can be prevented from working in the showbiz. My life is in danger, so if anything happens to me, Jahanzeb should be held accountable.”
In 2018, Ali made her movie debut with Saat Din Mohabbat In. Being a professional dancer and a leading figure in the transgender community of Pakistan, Ali was first featured in Soch’s Dhola’s 2017 music video.
Ali can be seen performing an item number called Saudai Saiyan in 7 Saat Din Mohabbat In.
Previously, while speaking about her character in 7DMI, Ali said “The first thing I wanted to be sure of when the role was offered to me was whether it makes a mockery of our community, which happens often in Bollywood and Lollywood films.”
After years of oppression, the transgender community in Pakistan is finally finding its way to the mainstream media. But even then, every day, they are threatened and exploited which will definitely act as an obstacle in their growth.
