A few hours ago, a member of the 118th Battalion of the Indian Security Forces stationed in Kupwara district of Occupied Kashmir, ended his life by shot himself with a government gun.

During the 24 hours, two Indian soldiers committed suicide, which the Indian media also tried to cover up. Police registered a case in both incidents.

According to political observers, the number of suicides among Indian soldiers and security forces personnel stationed in Jammu and Kashmir is on the rise.

Analysts believe that military personnel are committing suicide due to mental anguish and stress. According to observers monitoring the situation in Kashmir, the growing trend of suicides in the security forces is due to strict duty, distance from relatives and domestic and personal problems.

It should be noted that last month in October 2020, 7 personnel stationed in the occupied valley had used their guns to end their lives.

The KMS report states that the number of Indian soldiers who have committed suicide since 2007 has risen to 483 since the recent incident.

According to analysts, the rise in military suicides came after the repeal of Article 370. The Modi government is also deeply concerned about the rising number of incidents as these incidents are demoralizing other personnel.
