Pakistani batsman Saud Shakeel has been withdrawn from the ODI squad against South Africa tour.

According to the reports, he is suffering from a quadriceps tear in his left leg during Wednesday’s practice match in Lahore.

The selection committee of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is in touch with the team management and has substituted with Asif Ali.

As Saud is also part of the two-Test squad against Zimbabwe, he will now sit back at the National High-Performance Centre (NHPC) to complete his recovery. If he recovers fitness in time, then he will travel to Harare on 12 April along with the other 10 members of the Test side.

Earlier, the 35-member national cricket contingent has been cleared to fly to South Africa after all members tested negative in the final round of Covid-19 testing on Thursday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced.
