Muslims around the globe will be celebrating the month of Ramadan just after a few weeks. As coronavirus pandemic is still prevailing, the UAE has announced safety measures to be implemented in the Holy month.

Dr. Seif Al Dhaheri, the spokesperson for the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA), announced the measures.

According to the international news agency, Taraweeh prayers will be offered in Mosques in the UAE. Taraweeh prayer and Isha prayer have been covered at 30 minutes.

Moreover, the authorities have directed people to avoid family and friends gatherings, especially Iftar gatherings.

In addition to these, people have been asked to avoid distributing and exchanging meals between homes and families. Only members of the same family are allowed to do so.

Apart from that, iftar tents are banned and iftar meals will not be allowed inside mosques.

Similarly, authorities have directed restaurants not to distribute iftar meals inside or in front of their premises.

Distribution of meals is to labor housing complexes is allowed. Social distancing is compulsory.

Authorities have urged elderly people and people with chronic diseases to avoid gatherings.

People have been directed to follow Covid-19 measures. Intensive inspection campaigns will be conducted in Ramadan. Legal action will be taken against those violating the rules.
