ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain and Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz have locked horns over political issues on Twitter.

Fawad, in a tweet on Saturday, said sending Nawaz Sharif abroad was dangerous as “such people were involved in international conspiracies”.

He said meeting of Pakistan Muslim League leader Nawaz Sharif with Afghan politician Hamdullah Mohib, “a biggest ally of Indian intelligence agency RAW in Afghanistan was the major manifestation of that kind of activity”.

He said Modi, Mohib and Amrullah Saleh, enemies of Pakistan, were friends of Nawaz Sharif.

The PTI leader’s statement was quick to draw a reaction from Maryam Nawaz, who sharing the same picture, said “Pakistan’s peaceful existence with its neighbours was the very foundation of Nawaz Sharif’s ideology for which he worked tirelessly”.

She also said it was the very essence of diplomacy to talk to everyone.

“Listen to their point of view and convey one’s own message across: something this government doesn’t comprehend and; hence, it is a complete failure on the international front,” she added.

The PML-N leader then also tweeted a picture of Chief of the Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa meeting Hamdullah Mohib.

Responding to the tweet, Fawad termed the comparison ‘duffer’, saying that the meeting had taken place with the Pakistani leadership before Afghan politician demonised Pakistan as a brothel house.

“Why all Pakistan haters from Ajit Doval to Muhib end up in your palatial London palace?” The minister asked Maryam Nawaz.
