ISLAMABAD: The recent IMF report is a slap on the face of corrupt opposition and fake economic analysts, a government official said.
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Political Communication Dr Shahbaz Gill said that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has amended Pakistan’s GDP growth projection for 2021 and validated the government’s GDP projection, adding that earlier in April 2021, it had estimated 1.5 per cent growth.
In a tweet, he said, the report revealed that the GDP estimates had been revised due to strong economic activity in Pakistan.
The recognition of Pakistan’s projection was a proof of the recovery of the economy and that the government was right, he said, adding that the lies of all those elements who were spreading negative propaganda for personal gains had been exposed.
