Islamabad police have recovered the mobile phone of Zahir Jaffer, the accused in Noor Mukadam’s murder case.

Sources said that the accused Zahir Jaffer is in the custody of the police on physical remand. The police have not yet been able to record the statement of the accused under section 164. A confession of 164 must be made before a magistrate by law.

In this regard, legal experts say that the confession of the accused in police custody has no legal status.

Sources said that the details of the CCTV footage available with the police have also come to light.

The CCTV footage shows the victim falling from the balcony of the first floor in order to escape the murderer. Noor Mukadam then ran towards the main door after falling. In the footage, accused Zahir Jaffer is seen following the victim after which the accused was seen dragging Noor away.

The guard was also present at the time of the incident which is seen in the footage, but he did not try to stop Zahir Jaffer.

According to the footage, accused Zahir Jaffer took Noor Mukadam inside and locked the door.

Sources say that according to the footage, the rehabilitation center team reached the house of the accused long after the crime had been committed and an innocent life had been taken.
