The Balearic Islands Tourism Agency (AETIB) has confirmed that its free Covid-19 insurance offer would be prolonged until the end of the year.
Race insurance provides this service to all overseas tourists (non-residents) for stays in any regulated accommodation.
The policy’s extension aims to re-establish traveler trust and encourage demand, with a special emphasis on families during the October half-term holiday.
In the event of a Covid-19 infection, the type of coverage and circumstances covered include medical, surgical, and hospitalization expenses up to a maximum of €15,000.
Medical expenses for transit and repatriation are also covered, as are the costs of prolonging a stay in regulated lodging for the insured and their companions.
The policy covers costs incurred as a result of the policyholder’s stay being extended due to self-isolation or quarantine as a result of Covid-19.
A free English-language helpline is also provided for travelers.
The Balearic Islands (Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza, and Formentera) continue to offer pleasant temperatures great for hiking, cycling, and outdoor exploration, as well as excellent gastronomy, authentic communities, and breathtaking landscapes during the autumn months.
