KARACHI: The BankIslami Pakistan Limited has announced Rs1.16 billion as net profit for the first-half of 2020, a bourse filing said on Wednesday.

The net profit of the bank increased 8.29 per cent, compared with the after-tax-profit of Rs1.073 billion in the same half of the last year.

The total income of the banks fell to Rs6.12 billion for the half-year ended June 30, 2021, compared with Rs7.72 billion in the same half of the last year.

The total expenses of the bank increased to Rs1.59 billion for the period under review, compared with Rs4.3 billion in the corresponding period of the last year.

However, the provisions regarding write-offs were negative Rs287 million for the first-half (January–June) 2021, compared with Rs1.53 billion in the same half of the last year.

The bank announced Rs1.05 as earnings/share for the period under review, compared with 97 paisas EPS in the same half of the last year.

The board of directors of the bank in its meeting held on August 25, 2021 had not recommended cash dividend, bonus shares or right shares.
