Canada leads new green list entries for UK
Canada has led a number of places added to the UK’s green list for arrivals.
Denmark, Finland, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Switzerland, and the Azores are also included in the green list, with the adjustments taking effect on Monday at 04:00.
According to the administration, the danger of travel from these countries to public health is “low.”
Travelers from these countries will not be required to quarantine regardless of whether they are completely vaccinated, but they will still be required to do pre-departure and day two tests, as well as fill out a passenger location form.
Thailand and Montenegro, on the other hand, will be added to the red list.
This reflects growing case rates in these nations, as well as the heightened danger that travel brings to UK public health.
The high rates, along with lesser levels of published genomic surveillance in Thailand and Montenegro, imply that a new strain of Covid-19 breakout cannot be quickly recognized before it is imported and planted across the UK, according to the government.
Passengers arriving in the UK from certain red-listed countries will be required to isolate for ten days in a supervised quarantine facility and undergo the relevant testing.
