Chinese workers to be provided with full security, assures Rashid
Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed assured the Chinese that their workers will be provided with full security in Pakistan.
The minister, while talking to media in Islamabad, said that all the relevant departments are working on providing a safe environment to Chinese workers.
“Companies working in the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) are being provided security by the army,” said the minister.
Alluding to the recent terror attacks, the security czar of the country told the media that international conspiracies are being hatched to sabotage CPEC. He also assured that Prime Minister Imran Khan is committed to take forward the mega project which has become the “jugular vein” of Pakistan’s economy.
Over 1,200 evacuated from Afghanistan
With regards to the evacuation of foreigners from Afghanistan, the Rashid said that 1,277 have been evacuated and brought to Pakistan. He also shared that 853 people have entered Pakistan through Torkham border.
“Pakistan desires peace and stability in Afghanistan. Peace in Pakistan is linked with peace in Afghanistan,” said the interior minister.
