Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa meets Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong on Tuesday at the GHQ, ISPR
During the meeting, COAS exchanged views on matters of importance, stated ISPR.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), in a statement, said during the meeting at the GHQ,
Matters of mutual interests, defense partnership, development on CPEC, and regional security were deliberated in detail.
The Chinese representative respected Pakistan’s genuine determinations for peace and constancy in the area, as he recapped that Beijing will endure providing sustenance to Islamabad as a strategic partner.
Director-General Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed also attended the meeting, ISPR.
The army chief told the ambassador that both countries need to prevent the schemes of those intimidating their tactical cooperation.
He further protracted earnest empathies and deepest condolences to the government and the people of the Republic of China, chiefly the grieving families pretentious by the Dasu occurrence that killed nine Chinese residents.
The army chief said Pakistan Army prioritises its alliance with its longtime friend and also guaranteed full provision and safety of Chinese citizens working in Pakistan.
ISPR also stated, “Both agreed on the need for continuous engagement and coordination for peace and stability in the region”.
