Ehsan Mani provides an important update on New Zealand and England’s visits to Pakistan
Despite the uncertainty surrounding the two tours in recent days, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ehsan Mani is confident that both England and New Zealand will visit Pakistan as scheduled.
In September and October, New Zealand and England will make their first visits to Pakistan in 18 and 16 years, respectively. However, the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan has cast doubt on the series, with some New Zealand players reportedly expressing reservations.
“Cricket is taking place [in Pakistan] and we have New Zealand coming in September followed by England in October. There are no problems in hosting matches in Pakistan,” Ehsan Mani told the media.
Over the weekend, security officers from England and New Zealand will also visit Pakistan to assess the situation.
New Zealand will play three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) in Rawalpindi on September 17, 19, and 21. They will also play five Twenty20 Internationals in Lahore on September 25, 26, and 29, as well as October 1 and 3.
Meanwhile, the England men’s team will play two Twenty20 Internationals in Pakistan in October. On October 13 and 14, both matches will be held at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi.
