LAHORE: German Ambassador Bernhard Schlagheck called on Provincial Minister for Industries and Trade Mian Aslam Iqbal at his office at Punjab Board of Investment & Trade on Tuesday and discussed matters of mutual interest, bilateral cooperation and investment opportunities.

First Secretary of Economic and Political Section of the German Embassy Christian Bottcher and Chief Operating Officer PBIT Jalal Hassan were also present.

Bernhard Schlagheck said that German investors would take benefit from investment friendly environment in Punjab. He said that many companies have already made investment and more were ready to start business here.

Mian Aslam Iqbal said Pakistan and Germany enjoyed good friendly relations. He said that the Punjab government desired taking benefit from German technologies.

“Punjab has set up four new technical universities,” he said, adding that a state-of-the-art skill technology park would be established in Lahore. He said that there was scope of enhanced cooperation between Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority and German technical institutions.

Aslam further said that PBIT was providing best facilities to local and foreign investors. He promised extending full support to German companies intending to invest in Punjab. He said that the Punjab government would participate in Dubai Expo.
