Jake Paul defeats Tyron Woodley in split decision

Jake Paul for the first time in his fledgling boxing career has secured a split decision victory over Tyron Woodley in Cleveland.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer, Jake Paul, was rocked by a solid right hand which sent him into the ropes from former UFC champion Tyron, in the 4th round.

But Jake, who had won his four fights before within two rounds, won 77-75, 75-77, 78-74 on the scorecards.

British heavyweight Daniel Dubois made easy work of Joe Cusumano with a 1st round technical knockout victory after sending his rival to the canvas 3 times.

Tommy Fury’s hopes of fighting Jake were increased by a win over US newcomer Anthony Taylor, Jake’s sparring partner.

Tommy after winning a unanimous decision on his US debut said, “Let’s get it on Jake. I’ve done my bit, you do your bit,”

“It should be easy enough for him, I went four rounds with his sparring partner. I’m a seven-fight novice in the gym, nowhere near the finished article.”

However, Fury may have to wait for his showdown with Jake as Tyron, who was making his boxing debut, call for a rematch, relying on what he had won.

Jake who is 3 inches taller than Tyron but at 13st 8lb only half a pound heavier said he would take the fight if his rival got a tattoo.

Tyron said, “Me and Jake need to run it back. I want a rematch. I feel like I won,”

Tyron agreed to Jake respond, “If you get a tattoo ‘I love Jake Jake’ then we will run it back,”
