A report that is acquiesced to Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar revealed on Thursday stated that the amount of police positioned at the Minar e Pakistan and its adjacent zones were not amplified on August 14 although two unfortunate occurrences taking place at the site a day before.

The development comes after a video went viral of one female being abused and harassed by a mob of 400 on August-14.

According to an FIR filed with the police, the first event occurred on August 13 at around 11:15 pm, when numerous anonymous men beat security guards Shahid, Shafiq, and Waqas who were posted outside the Minar-e-Pakistan.

The mob then ruined the lock of gate number 5, arrived at the locale, and scaled the Minar-e-Pakistan, the FIR stated, from where they later bombarded stones on security employees and tortured guards Usman and Zeeshan.

The second event took place when the unknown people, not backing down, at 2 am, had scorched fire to the motorcycle and a cabin at the Minar-e-Pakistan.

They had also wrecked CCTV cameras, walkthrough gates, and lights mounted there, the FIR mentioned, with police saying that a case of mobsters and incendiarism has been recorded against the people.
