Muhammad Aamir Jan posted as principal secretary to Punjab CM

LAHORE: In an unexpected move, Muhammad Aamir Jan, a grade-20 officer, has been posted as new principal secretary to Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar after Tahir Khurshid was relieved from his duties as principal secretary with immediate effects on Tuesday.

Tahir Khursheed, a grade-21 officer, has served as PS to CM Buzdar for around a year but he was under heavy criticism after National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore launched an investigation against him on the charges of possessing assets beyond his known sources of income. Tahir Khurshid has been asked to report to the Establishment Division with immediate effects.

Before being appointed as PS to CM Punjab Khursheed had served as secretary Communication and Works department as well as secretary local government and community development, Punjab.

On the other hand, Aamir Ali Jan was serving as Secretary Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education department Punjab before he was appointed as new PS to CM Buzdar.

A notification in this regard has also been issued which further says that Aamir Ali Jan will continue to hold the additional charge of Secretary Energy department Punjab.
