Rameez Raja to meet PM Imran to discuss PCB chairmanship
Former Pakistan captain Rameez Raja will meet Prime Minister Imran Khan on the matter of his expected appointment as the new chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
According to the reports, Rameez Raja and Dr. Jawad are likely to join the Board of Governors, replacing current PCB chairman Ehsan Mani and Asad Ali.
Mani is also expected to meet PM Imran to discuss whether he will continue as the chief of PCB for the next three-year tenure. His current tenure will come to an end on August 25.
The reports also said that PM Imran will meet Rameez Raja for his appointment as the new chief.
PM Imran, the patron of the PCB, has the authority to appoint the chief of the board.
If Mani is given the extension, he will have to go through the process of re-election, as stated in the PCB constitution which states that the tenure of the chief should not exceed six years. Mani has, however, completed only three years.
